Baseball Tips - Do Not Forget About the 60 Yard Dash
What Is A Good Time In The 60 Yard Dash?
All right, let's get this question out of the way. A good time in the 60 yard dash is your best time. If every time you run the 60 yard dash you set a personal record, then that was a good time. Do not worry about the times of other players. All you need to worry about is improving yourself. https://yanaleea.blogspot.com/2019/02/baseball-tips-do-not-forget-about-60.html
Everybody has a maximum speed; a speed that will always be as fast as they can run. Do most people ever reach that? No. What you need to do is work hard, keep breaking your personal record, and keep getting closer to your maximum speed.
Why The 60 Yard Dash?
Home plate to second base is 60 yards. So, maybe in the beginning, college recruiters and professional scouts were looking for double hitters. Now, they are still looking for double hitters, but they also want to know how fast you react, how fast can you run down a line drive, and how likely you are to be a base stealer. https://yanaleea.blogspot.com/2019/02/a-video-poker-strategy-for-winning-and.html
Are You Going To A Showcase Or College Camp?
If the answer is yes, then you will be running a 60 yard dash. Why not work on it and run it as fast as you can. Will speed alone get me a scholarship or playing time? No. But speed can help.
Won't My Hitting Get Me On The Field?
No doubt hitting is the number one tool for everybody but pitchers. But why not try to improve your odds of playing time. Players that put up slow times and are not catchers, have one of two choices, first base or DH. Even at third base they want some quickness. Wouldn't you rather increase your odds of playing by adding in the three outfield spots? Now, instead of battling for one or two spots in the line up, you have five spots to fight for. https://yanaleea.blogspot.com
How Can I Improve My Time?
You spend hours upon hours improving your hitting. And you should. But the steroid era is over and speed is back. You could hire a personal trainer to help you improve your speed, but that would be costly. Instead, try to get your team to hire a workout trainer for one or two sessions a week. This way the cost will be spread over ten or eleven players. Also, the workouts will help with your other baseball skills. Talk to your coach and good luck.
